reminded me of a couple of ideas seen in some old games, so I have quickly put together three games from the 19th century with one of those ideas.
The earliest game that I know with the idea by the great Alexander M'Donnell.
Later two Frenchmen fell victim to 'A little bit of Morphy'.

And finally, the phenomenal Rudolf Charousek adds his own interpretation. The header picture is how he looked at his first international event - Nuremburg 1896.
