Hey welcome back to part 3 of positional chess. So as you know the defination of positional play and how to play that ,who is best in positional chess and why chess players are artists.

Part 2 link = https://www.chess.com/blog/ujan1234/positional-play-part-2

So today you are going to learn principles of positional chess.

1.Improve the position of your pieces

So now white pieces are not that good but it will be way better after some moves as white has Bb2 taking the diagonal then Re1 taking the file and finally placing the knight in the center in e4.

2. Create a pawn structure which will be good for you but not for your opponent .

See in the position it is a knight vs bishop so as we all know in closed positions knights are better so now if we get a closed position for white it will be better for white so now white played c5 to close the position.

3.Restricrt your opponent pieces

So as you can see black's knight cannot moved because of the white bishop so you have to make your opponents position this worse and now white simple idea is to promote the h pawn.

4. Neutralize your opponent’s plan

So blacks idea is Nd7 , Nf6 and Ne4 so black started with Nd7 and white played Nd3 with the idea of if Nf6 then Nf2 and then no Ne4.

5. Accumulate small advantages

So in this position white has a little advantage as he has the e7 square and and also blacks a  and d  pawns are very weak . So playing Re7 is more than enough.

So this is it for today hope you like it and if you like it don't forget to follow me and comment . Follow me for more updates .
