The Yes2Chess Final 2024

Hello everyone! I have not posted a blog post in a very long time. But now i come with a special blog. It is about the Yes2Chess Final 2024.

What is Yes2Chess?

What is Yes2Chess? Yes2Chess is a tournament in Sweden where schools can compete in chess. If you have not seen my blog about when i won Yes2Chess 2022, click here to see it!

My school in Yes2Chess 2024

Well this year (2024) my school wanted to play the yournament again. This time we had 4 teams insted of 1. The teams names where: Husie Beta, Husie Alfa, Husie Gamma and Husie Delta. As i was the schools best chess player, i played in the best team: Husie Delta. Husie Beta and Husie Alfa got knocked out in the group stage. After that, Husie Gamma got knocked out in the first knockout game. However we, Husie Delta, came to the final! Everyone was exited to win! The players was forced to win!

We got prepered

As i was the best, the teacher let me (and the second best, my frend) scout the teams. We prepered us in one week. I prepered the players for what was waiting.

Final Day

It was time. The day that we would play the final. We where training and prepering us 30 minutes before the games started. I showed them opening tactics. We felt nervous. It was time to play!

Game 1

Game one started 9:00. We would meet ''Ugglan''. The school was called ''Musikugglan''. That would have been translated to ''The musical owl''. It was a Music school. I won my game, but that was not enough. We lost 11-9, because it is five games, you get 3 points if you win, 2 points if you draw and 1 point if you lose. We wor 2 games and lost 3 games. I am now going to show you my game. Here it is:

We lost. And as the final was a group of 4 teams, we had to win the next game to have a chance to win.

Game 2

Game 2 was getting started. The school that we would have met had been discualified because of cheating. We would now meet YestoW and the school ''Lindåskolan F-6''. We won that game 13-7, or 4-1. This was my game:

Wes till had a chance to win! But we had to win the next game. So here it comes:

Game 3

The last game was going to be against the hardest opponent. ''ESN Chess Team United Harmony''. The schools name was ''Engelska Skolan Norr''. That would have been translated to: ''The English School North''. It was a school for people that could not speak swedish in Stockholm, the swedish capital. ''What was the results?'' You may ask. Well we lost 15-5. 5-0! They destroyed us and won the whole tournament. We were the favorites to win, as our school won it 3 times before. We did it one time, and the people in class 3 (2024) won it 2 times. If we won it thet time, we would have won it the 4th time! But we lost. Everyone said that it was good because we came 3rd of 450 schools in Sweden, but i was disappointed. Anyway, this is my game:

My friends lost fast. My game went on for like 15 minutes. At the end, we lost. We got 10 000 kr (almost 1000$) and a trophy. Also, every player that played in the final got this: It looks cool until you see the what every player got when we won Yes2Chess 2022. Here it is:And if you didn't notice, the first one (when we came third - 2024) is made of wood. The second one is made of glass! Look here:
