
Technique: Converting an advantage
Hi guys! Today I have a very important topic to discuss: Technique. This is one of the more important aspects of the game- how to convert an advantage.
There are a lot of players who have great technique and we are going to learn from some of these players. While having a solid advantage where you can afford to follow the principle of "No Rush" you should keep the following things in mind:
- Try to give as less counter play as possible.
- Try to subject the opponent into passivity by placing your pieces on supported, centralized and active squares. You should try to win space if possible.
- Before to undertake any dynamic operation- Regroup your pieces to their best positions!
- In the endgame- don't forget about the King!
- Play with your pawns very skillfully as a wrong pawn move can mean your opponent's pieces jumping out into activity!
