yaccz, i run ubuntu currently, but i've used a few distros. Hell I've even put together an LFS. This is great if you are trying to learn something. I have a job and kids I'd like to spend time with. I do know how to do most things from a command line, but why would I waste my time if I don't have to? Ubuntu does everything I currently need my home PC to do, with no fuss. When it turns into a hassle, I'll go to another distro.

yaccz I used to run Gentoo, back in the dayswhen I was seventeen. Now I've got a full time job and I just don't have time to worry myself about those small optimalisations, thus I run Buntu nowerdays. And I got more time left to do actual code hacking.

Why do we have to chat about linux on a chess site? No wonder this group is full of low levels, probably kids with fresh install of African word meaning "Gentoo is too hard for me".
