Hi Club! Here's the start to a game up to the point where I missed a key game-winning tactic! Okay... here it is. Here's another! I missed the cool ending because I did not calculate all the options! I found one I liked that exchanged my knight for a rook and kept the pressure on, but it wasn't a game breaking attack like the one pictured above. Lesson learned: When you have the pressure on your opponent's king position ALWAYS calculate all the CHECKS, CAPTURES, and THREATS a few moves deep. You could have a game-winning attack like this one. Have a great day! Mr. P.

Hi Club! Check out this mating puzzle. See if you can figure it out. Here's the game I played that led up to this mating position. According to the analysis on lichess.com I had no inaccuracies, mistakes or blunders, so.... I hope you figured out the mate! Have a great day! Mr. P.

Hi Club! Here's a chess position from Mating the Castled King. What an attack! It shows the importance of putting your pieces on good squares. Bishops and rooks should be aimed at the king position, knights should to be near the king, and the queen should be ready to pounce on the damaged king position once the pawn cover is shattered! I hope this attack helps you! Keep on Checkin' Mr. P.

Hi Club! Here's a game where I trap the opponent's queen... accidentally! LOL I was trying to apply some ideas from the Colle System for white, but with black. It's either similar to, or actually is the Slav Defense when it is black. Anyway, black creates a pawn pyramid and then pushes a center pawn to open the position. It's a basic idea that works out really well for me in this game. Check it out!

Hi Club, This is an error analysis of a game played in the Fort Knox Variation of the French Defense. The first game is the actual game played. The second game is the improvement. Now here's an improvement on that game. Instead of displacing the knight, black makes a bigger threat... mate in one... to kill white's attack. What a difference one move makes!
