1. No use , chess.com is not a chatting/mail website

2. No use , it will just lead to stupid statuses

3. Not happening , it used to be 5 for free members , now they reduced it to three , I don't rlly see them increasing it anytime soon , you can use other sites for puzzles

a pdf file could be interesting, for example if you want to send some pdf book to someone else without their email or a bank of exercises to a student. Or on your bio, if you want to attach a  word document about yourself, your chess career or you coaching skills, etc....

Links are allowed and they have way more potential of being virus/malware, I don't see why files are illegal?

Then again you could drop a file to a certain internet link and share it with someone, if you really want

and the puzzles I agree, maybe make an option that you get it free the first month for chess beginners,  but at the same time if you are not ready to support chesscom be a better website, you can always go to any other website

I use https://chesstempo.com/chess-tactics , and despite not signing up for an account, I get loads of puzzles. It could be worth researching if you haven't tried it yet.

This is *exactly* the reason why pdf files should never be allowed. Pirated .pdf's of copyrighted materials (ie chess books) are abundant online if you know where to look. It's illegal (and immoral) to share these online. Chess.com does not want to make their "policing" of the website any more complicated than it is already.

Besides, this is not a file trading or file hosting website. You can easily find that functionality elsewhere if you absolutely must have that.

Support chess authors!! Don't download or trade chess book pdf's online, it's just so uncool to do that.  The price of many chess books is the fraction of the cost of a single lesson with a coach and is an unbelievable bargain in terms of value.

Yes, I'm aware that books may not be available equally in all parts of the world, but, still....

Then again you could drop a file to a certain internet link and share it with someone, if you really want

sharing a file can also easily contain malicious things, its way easier to make a virus file than make a website that sends malicious packets

im pretty sure embeding already exists on this site too and its very advanced, u can literally connect chess.com to another social media software and easily integrate it, adding the option to upload files will not only increase the cost, as people can use this as cloud storage or video share without them earning profit off it(unlike yt) but just be a nuisance in general

its great if they allowed it but i can understand why they didnt add file sharing
