The same happened to me
I got a warning for playing the arena
A chess.com arena banning everyone
yep happened to many people ![]()
Ban them all. It #is# a form of sandbagging. Outlaw the arena at the same time. No reason to legitimize it.

Why would you ban them all? It's not at all a form of sandbagging because it's unrated. Chess.com makes it so incredibly fast time controls barely affect your rating- to stop sandbagging in the first place.

my apologies, I did not realize this was unrated.
I do think this should naturally lead to a discussion re: creation of a hyperbullet rating on chess.com, though..... because then it would seem to be much less of an issue.
but yeah, my apologies, I assumed this was rated play. I didn't see any indication otherwise in the messages that had been posted previously.
I agree 100% these warnings/bans on players for doing something crazy (but UNRATED) does seem a bit over the top, then. Rated play would be an entirely different situation though. ![]()
If you played the 1 second arena in the HyperBullet club you are in danger! Watch out
Danger for my club then, but I don't need to worry cuz we won't implement 1s tourneys
Don't do 1-second arenas. That's even more of a pointless mouse race than 10-second.
Probably the solution is to have anything faster than 10 seconds be unrated and have the automated sandbagging detection ignore unrated games.

So true but
We want freedom to play at pointlessly fast speeds!
We want freedom from the tyrannical Moderators!
(please note that that was a joke and does not reflect my real view on 1 sec games which agree with those of @MGleason)

Yeah I guess
but many people enjoy mouse races lol
Then do 10 seconds. Isn't that fast enough?
How dare you!
1 second a side allows for 10 moves in a game - the highest quality of chess imaginable!
you want to dilute this great game by creating time to think!?
Heretic!

The arena WAS unrated
(technically it is because every game whethere it's a win, draw, or loss, awarded us with +/-0 rating points)
