I think:
1) Yes. Makes sense.
2) No a pawn moved is a pawn moved possessed or not.
3) Yes. Again possessed is possessed it basically allows the king to move like a K+N combo so it should be allowed.

Thanks Auk, I agree with your assessment of (1) and (2). It's the simplest and most logical.
Your view of (3) also makes sense, but I wonder if checkmating a possessed king would be very difficult. Or maybe these games swing to one player or the other so that one side can still get a win. I haven't played it so I can't say for sure.
One thing about possed king can they "Checkmate another king eg:
Where the white king is possessed. Is it checkmate because the spirit is attacking the king or is it illegal?
also the inventor of the spirit was tomato
I was one of the first to play with it (i think) and agree with what auk said earlier

if the black king is also possessed, though, then it is illegal
Thanks Auk and Bad_Dobby. I'll take this as resolved. I'll mention it in the game (Ry vs. McGoohan) and have it added to the rules.
Rule addendum:
1) A possessed pawn promotes on the 8th rank as usual, even if it moves there as knight.
2) A pawn may not make a 2-square move if it has made any other move (including moving only as a knight while possessed).
3) A possessed king may move as knight even if checked.
Hi, just checking in because I’ve stumbled across this forum. All the points auk made are correct (that’s been established already, of course). A note about 3, I do not think the spirit has undergone enough games to tell whether having a possessed king is too powerful, but if this turns out to be the case there might have to be adjustments as to not break the game.

This is interesting as it would make it a very powerful piece, perhaps a few more testing games are required.
The spirit has been valued at around 3.5, but if it possesses a king it automatically grants it 8 extra squares that must also be blocked.
Also, due to the fact that a spirit not possessing anything can only be captured by a possessed piece, this makes it invincible if the enemy spirit is gone. That might be another issue with balancing.
Ry and McGoohan are playing a game with spirit (here), and we have a few unresolved questions:
1) we're assuming that a possessed pawn promotes on the 8th rank, even if it moves there using a knight move. Would like this verified.
2) Is a pawn allowed a 2-square move even if it has previously moved (while possessed) as a knight? And if allowed, can it do it anywhere on the board? And if this is allowed, can it be captured en-passant (anywhere on the board)?
(my preference is that pawns are not allowed a 2-square move if it ever made any other move, possessed or not).
3) Is a possessed king allowed to escape check with a knight move?
If the inventor of the piece does not reply soon, then we will make our own judgement. But comments from anyone are welcome.
