NANJING-Final Round Results w/Games

Ok everyone. For kco, jester, and whoever else wants this, here is the finished game from Anand/Bacrot simulated after Bacrot's last move, 33...Be2.

I set up the position that the game ended on in Chessmaster 10, using the Chessmaster personality(rating of 2960) to play both sides, each side having a 60 minute time limit, to avoid time pressure. Here is the finished game. Obviously, the first move of this game would be Anand's 34th move:

I hope this helps out somewhat. Now I *really* need to take a rest to save my energy reporting the 3rd round of the SPICE Cup later on.  Enjoy.

Thanks ChessMarkstheSpot,

Looks like most engines like Rxf7 as the best reply for Anand.

Quite impressive work analysis Mark and quite astute of Bacrot to resign after his 32nd move!!! It would be intersting to know under what time control Bacrot was in at the time of his resignation.

@post#41 -- 11.Bxe4 ... such an engine move! I think most humans quite sensibly play Rd7+ there and the game is (even more) obviously over.

Hyannis,

After his last move, Bacrot had 9mins 32sec on his clock, and Anand had 28mins.

Thus, Bacrot had to make 7 moves in 9mins 32secs...

JG27Pyth,

I agree with you.
