Here is a news article about a national bank in Namibia donating funds for chess sets to local schools:

Windhoek bank is donating N$60000 for 1,000 chess sets to be distributed to local schools throughout the area. The Namibian Chess Federation will be traveling throughout the country to see where the chess sets will be most needed.

A spokesperson for the Windhoek bank said "As a responsible corporate citizen Bank Windhoek understands the challenges that the youth in Namibia face. By cultivating a love for chess Bank Windhoek promotes a well-balanced lifestyle and creates an opportunity for social and mental development".

A tad over 4000. Tyrfing's calculations are incorrect. Two separate sites gave me 4075 and 4070 respectively.

I've memorized many currency exchange rates. If I recall correctly, the Namibian Dollar is a bit less than .14 USD. I think Tyrfing is correct. (This may be a bit off, as I traveled to Namibia last summer, and it probably has fluctuated since.)

Patzer: I think giving underprivelidged children chess sets is better than handing out an equivalent amount in money. Go Bank Winhoek!

Oh, nevermind. I had compared Sterling, not US dollars.
