"Winning Chess Strategy For Kids" by Jeff Coakley...

Not just for kids.  This is a GREAT chess book-course for every beginner-novice.

Slightly pricey for a chess book, but worth every penny, and more.  You can buy several chess books, or just this one....and likely be better off getting (and studying) this one.
