What is a "former CM"?
Candidate Master
FIDE stripped his title?
I think any of the following would be suitable for a former CM...
"Chess Tactics From Scratch..." by Martin Weteschnik...teaches a "scientific" approach for analyzing all chess tactics...

choose an appropriate book by John Nunn....any of these are suitable for the more advanced player....
for a real challenge...
"Practical Chess Exercises" by Ray Cheng...
Thousands (!) of puzzles in this tome by Laszlo Polgar - father of the famous champion chess playing Polgar sisters - Judit, Susan, Sophia....

Hi all,
I'm a former CM interested in playing chess competitively again and so I'm looking for a good chess problems book to improve my middlegame and endgame tactics. Does anyone know of any such recently published books?
