Hi all,

I'm a former CM interested in playing chess competitively again and so I'm looking for a good chess problems book to improve my middlegame and endgame tactics. Does anyone know of any such recently published books?

I think any of the following would be suitable for a former CM...

"Chess Tactics From Scratch..." by Martin Weteschnik...teaches a "scientific" approach for analyzing all chess tactics...

choose an appropriate book by John Nunn....any of these are suitable for the more advanced player....

for a real challenge...

"Practical Chess Exercises" by Ray Cheng...

Thousands (!) of puzzles in this tome by Laszlo Polgar - father of the famous champion chess playing Polgar sisters - Judit, Susan, Sophia....

Thank you all for the suggestions! And I meant "former CM" in the sense that I haven't played in 5 years so I'm not really at CM strength anymore, SilentKnighte5

Clear up our confusion please.  CM = Correspondence Master? or Candidate Master?  Thanks.

Thanks.  Always wondered about that!
