These frames are made from the pictures from Bobby Fischer doing a simul in 1963-64 at Kodak Park here in Rochester, NY. They are printed on museum quality canvas frames in a 24" X 20" size. You can put these in a nice frame or just hang them on your wall! Get an exclusive piece of chess history of the greatest player in our history of the United States!
Here is the story on how we got them:
We here in Rochester, NY were blessed to have Bobby Fischer play a Simul and lecture at the Kodak research lab during his 1963-64 Simul tour. With Kodak being a film company, they were worried that sub par pictures of the event would hurt their brand...so they brought in professional photographers to document the event.
The pictures never made it to the public. They went straight into the Kodak archives and were never seen again. That was until in the last days of Kodak, they assigned some people to clean out the archives. One of those people had a friend who was seriously into chess and came to the Rochester Chess Center. He thought...hey...maybe his kids will like the pics!
Funny thing is neither the kid or his dad knew what they had. Since they were of no use to either of them the dad came in and gave them to my dad. We got a folder with 18 previously unpublished photos from the event. My dad was nice and gave the family a free week of camp.
For 10 years the pics sat around the center. We even lost track of them for a while. When we did re-discover them, I made some prints when I was based out in California. They were not the best prints. The pictures were pixelated and grainy. I sold some prints, but they did not do Fischer or the event justice.
So, I decided to have them printed on museum quality canvasses. They may be from 1964, but they could have been taken yesterday. The wrap-around prints allow you not to even have to frame the prints if you did not want to. I LOVE them and everyone who has seen them wants one too!
What do you think about them? Here are 2 of the pics.
You can go to my site to check out the rest of the ones I chose to print in this run.
Thanks
