andy doesn't like hot girls.  he won't be tempted.

ivandh

I remember this one time on the bus, it was midnight, cold as hell and raining. It was just me and the whackjobs when two hot girls got on. They had skirts that could double as bicycle tires. This guy laying across from me shouts "Merry Christmas, Bob!" The lady in the back explained to the blind dude while the girls, a bit put off, engaged in grudging conversation with him. They tried to get my attention but it was my stop, so I left them with Bob, the lady and the blind dude.

AndyClifton

I like sepia girls!

CalamityChristie

Ferrell on SNL = great

Ferrell in movies = sucks

which book is that?

jk. But I disagree, have you seen Anchorman? It's dumb, but it's good.

ilikeflags

i hated anchorman but i know a lot of people like it.  a lot of people liike beyonce too though.

TheGrobe

Ferrell hasn't done anything I didn't think sucked, but hey, at least he's not Ben Stiller.

AndyClifton

Hey, I loved Meet the Parents!  Also the "Tom Cruise One-Man Show" was a hoot.

TheGrobe

Downy Jr. and Cruise stole that show, Stiller was his usual substandard self.  I don't know -- making me feel uncomfortable, awkward and embarrassed on your behalf just doesn't equate to funny for me.

CalamityChristie

haha!  that's Ben alright! not too easy on the eyes either!

theoreticalboy

Loads, whenever I'm too broke to afford a new book and/or too lazy to go to the library I re-read something.  In the last three or four months I've re-read The Melancholy of Resistance, SilenceA Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and The Ark Sakura.

And Will Ferrell sucks like modern comedians usually do.

AndyClifton

Ah yes, Portrait of the Artist...the only thing by Mr Dublin that I ever really liked (the first half of it anyway).

uhnttgaae

i couldn't disagree more with andyclifton. portrait of the artist bored me for the most part until the end of chapter 4 where stephen has his awakening at the shore. and nothing in that book touches ulysses

James Joyce evokes strong memories for me, of the time I met this chick in a blues bar who claimed she was a Wiccan priestess and we wound up singing "Hotel California", at the top of our lungs, totally blitzed, with a street guitarist at 2:30 a.m. on the Granville Street strip in Vancouver. I had a copy of "Dubliners" with me (don't ask me why) and she thought that was cool. Couldn't say old James' writing was as memorable though. One day I'll slog through it again -- for old time's sake.

i don't care for dubliners. the work of a young man who would someday be world champion

shadowcat53

To Kill a Mocking bird ...I have read twice ..also the Lord of the rings trilogy, a few times....but so many books so little time...I love Dickens and all his books also Sommerset Maugham.

ilikeflags

ben stiller is worse than snakeface

dubliners is a great intro for the less savy reader and deep enough for the know-it-all.  i love it.  i love teaching it and reading it.  its simplicity is nearly perfect.

The Grapes of Wrath.

I've read that thing about a half a dozen times, too!

I think it's running a close second to Don Q. on the "books I've read multiple times" list.
