Chess Mentor/Tactics Trainer TYPE software

Hi! I've recently decided to make an organized effort in improving my chess and I was wondering if anyone knows of software that you can buy and then put puzzles and positions into that have the answers linked to them? I'm looking to choose my own positions, as well has upload pre-ordered workouts. Is there anything that also gauges what you typically miss, and repeats those problems? Thanks in advance Smile

Why not just purchase a membership here and use Tactics Trainer and Chess Mentor? I feel like it's been worth every penny and I fully intend on purchasing another year when my subscription comes due. I've learned a lot using Chess Mentor and I believe I see tactics a lot quicker from using Tactics Trainer regularily. Up to you of course, but it is worth the money IMO.

I've used it before. Tactics Trainer is very good. Chess Mentor is ok. The reason I don't want to simply take that route is because I want to have more control over the presentation of material. Looking for programs that will help me learn curriculum outside of what they offer. Thanks Smile

Look into convetka software.  For free options, check out Lucas Chess which comes with a bunch of exercise and allows importing new and creating new problems from games.

Thanks, this is getting me somewhere! There's a function on chessgames.com where you can find games that have a f7 sacrifice or Nxb5, etc. Is this possible with convetka? So far I've seen no indication of that. Additionally, in tactics trainer, it graphs out pins, forks, etc and shows where you are lacking. These features are more what I'm looking for, but perhaps chess assistent has them...?
