I have the HOS Classic set, 4.4 inch king, golden rosewood for the black pieces. It's just beautiful.
The set I like best.
I also regard my wooden knockoff of the USCF Club Special highly for its universal and simple design, robustness, and good feel (medium weighted and well felted). It was just $30 some years ago from Cajun Chess.
The folding vinyl board pairs well with it.

I have collected several very nice wooden sets over the years but I always seem to fall back on my triple weighted plastice set and a roll up vinyl board. I just seem to like they way they feel and I never worry that they might get damaged. They look very nice and they were very inexpensive compared to some of the nice wooden sets.

But I can't convince myself to pay $500 for them. Maybe I should have jumped when they were "only" $325.
