3) Fischer Spassky 1972 - Royal Chess Mall
4) Zagreb - Chessbazaar or Royal Chess Mall
5) Dubrovnik - Chessbazaar or Royal Chess Mall
6) Latvian - Chessbazaar or Royal Chess Mall
7) American staunton - House of Staunton
8) Staunton pieces - Chessbase India
9) Staunton pieces - Chennai Chess Products

Others:
1) Foldable chess board (2.25 inch) with bag) - House of Staunton
2) Chess piece bag (10x) - House of Staunton or Chess House

What's yours?

VBerriz

Some excellent styles, but I’d favor the quality over quantity approach. For the Latvian, get it from Oldset, the Reykjavik from House of Staunton, etc.

3 world class sets are better than 9 less well made ones. Also, dump the bags - nothing but damage from storing chess pieces like that.

Krames
*Tal style, either HOS or NOJ
*BCE blitz
*Noj 1941 Soviet
*Original Staunton, not sure on exact year/style

H.O.S. Ceska Kublovka pieces and a JLP chess board. I don't need anymore sets or boards but, I want to finish off my wish list.

Btw,Krames and felonet definitely have the right idea.wink

I’m a bit strange in that I wish for something a bit different , whatever that may be … a random cool find somewhere or something that takes my fancy at an online retailer! I’m not sure what that is … but I know it when I see it. Most of my collection has grown in an ad hoc manner … and I like the randomness. If pushed and money was no object … Oleg’s The Knight Series and mainly for the hooded, menacing bishop or old pre-Staunton set of some description or the Mephisto Phoenix with a great board and custom pieces.

You'll be able to make those yourself Powderdigit, based on your enthusiasm and attempt to learn wood turning(if I read your past post correctly)....I hope you do!...Maybe you can give me a nice sizeable discount.wink

This indeed the case! Finding local finds do mitigate my fancy at online retaliers! When it's looking unusual and cheap then it's buy buy buy!

- Knubbel

@magictwanger I’m curious your thoughts on the Ceska Kublovka from HOS versus Oldset’s rendition. Search Oldset Vintage European in this forum to see what I’m talking about

I have one of Oldset's Ceska Kublovka and it is wonderful to look at and to play. I bought it just before the invasion started and he was able to post it out. Search on my posts for my review of the set.

Wishlists generally only work on the online giant named after that South American river. That being said, here is mine.

1. A 3D printed set of Conner O'Kane's Kyiv.

2. A Pacific Game Co. Cavalier #1491.

3. Kohpablanca's Custom Australis BCE by Oldset.

4. Piatigorsky set by Staunton Castle

5. Ukranian style set, probably made by me.

6. 2.25 inch board in Tropical Walnut and Maple made by me.

7. Maybe a Chavet.

Not too difficult to meet the eccentric desires for a sarcastic curmudgeon.

I have a Piatigorsky on order from Staunton Castle - I can't wait. Mandeep even agreed to make it in Ebony! I already have a stained SC Dubrovnik so I'm happy to have some variety in wood. Idc if it's historically accurate or not, I think it will look beautiful. Nice list @F1Lightning!

My Dubrovnik is the V3.0 from Chess Bazaar as I preferred his Knight to the SC knight. I did experience cracks in one white Knight and white Queen but Chess Bazaar replaced them without cost even in the midst of the worst of the pandemic experienced by our Indian friends. You should post a review of your Piatigorsky after it arrives.

I will try - and I enjoyed reading your review of Oldset's CK repro. Really nice looking set!
