Chessmaster 9000

Helo i have an old CD of Chessmaster 9000.Is it through that it had a ELO raiting over 2700 in year of 2009 century?Is it different level of Chessmaster 9000?I can find it to be soo.Is it big different in chess strenght between Chessmaster 9000 and Chessmaster: Grandmaster Edition?

Based on piecing together Internet Archive lists and current lists of CEGT and CCRL ratings, it appears that Chessmaster 9000 would rate around 2610, and CGE would rate about 2664. Of course, there will be some inaccuracies in these rating estimates. (Each rating estimate would have an error margin ranging from plus or minus 15 to plus or minus 25 elo points, so take all of this with a big grain of salt.)

Maybe you saw a different rating list? CCRL says:

Edit - Ah, OK, CM11 4cpu would be around 2750. CM11 1 cpu would be around 2664.

Hi judarna777--Chessmaster in general is weaker than more updated software that manages play over the 2900 or 3000 level.  That being said, even V9 thumped GM Larry Christiansen, a repeat US champion.  So to make a long story short, it's definitely not about to throw away its queen or anything.

I just came across a bug in Chessmaster 9000. When facing draw via 50 move rule, it will not recognize a mate at the last move.

In this blitz game, I noticed when I pulled down the Mentor Lines, the main engine was showing a score of 0.00 and thinking of knight moves. not Rh1.

Weird.

That is weird. I confirmed that CM9000 does that on my PC. I did notice that CM10th doesn't have the bug.
