Hello,

I purchased this chess set from House of Staunton:

https://www.houseofstaunton.com/the-club-sized-fischer-spassky-chess-set-box-and-board-combo.html

The pieces are Indian Rosewood, which is a bit more expensive. I paid 469.00 USD for the set, but unfortunately the order was shipped before I could determine my space requirements. The set was way too large. So I purchased a different set.

House of Staunton charges an unreasonable restocking fee, plus they don't pay for return shipping. I haven't even opened the package and they still want to charge the fee, talk about horrible customer service.

Please let me know if you are interested, quicker responses preferred, as I only have a few days to decide between returning it and taking a hit on the fee and shipping, or selling it close to what I paid for.

I wouldn't mind shipping (we can split the cost), but local buyers would be preferred (I'm located in Hicksville, NY).

I would like to sell a Chavet set that was purchased in 1976 at the factory in France. The knight has the mouth open showing teeth and has ivory eyes.   Don’t know how to post pictures.

Posting a couple of pics on behalf of Ronsfish. Good luck with the sale!

Research indicates its Regency style.

Hi all, just joined hopefully the right place to ask for recommnedations!

I only have an old lightweight wooden set where the pieces fall over - looking for one thats tactile but sturdy to encourage my kids to play, any suggestions of a good set where the pieces hold their interest for those just starting out?

Hey!

I run a 3D Printing service, and have the capability to print high quality chess sets! I can print sets in resin for extreme quality and precision for models that need it, along with FDM printing which still provides high quality prints but is economical. I can print in a wooden filament, or in any color plastic you can think of.

You can check out my website 3DSolutionsNow.com

@AmanUHandsomeBeast I know this is a quite late response but would you still have that non electronic DGT board available?

Yeah i have just sitting here. With no one to play for a year i have no use for it. I even have the brand new piece unopened in the box. The board has been used...but looks like brand new.

Hello, I have some hand carved Lewis type Chess Pieces to sell. Two are of Marine Ivory and one from Lignite, (Jet) Can anyone suggest where I can try? Will add images as soon as I work out how to!

I'm selling my ebony Sher-E-Punjab. I don't really need 2 sets and besides the money issue I have so little room in my studio so I can't display more than one set. Here's the link to my images if you're interested. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/sher-e-punjab-set-for-sale

Don't think owner/mods would tolerate buy/sell transactions in this forum.  First person to get ripped off would be complaining to the site owner. Its a good idea of a buy, sell and trade board but I just don't see it working out here.

Why not setup a Facebook group and redirect member's there ?

cgrau and Mike have a active facebook group running and a similar group can be setup for buying/selling chess products. If site admins are okay with it, we could have a chess.com group linked to the facebook one.

I don't agree. It's surprising to me that we don't have a market place to trade and sell chess items. It could work. Works on art sites like WetCanvas so why not here.

I'm sorry, if anyone has already posted this link above!

Cool, thanks for the info and link.

Maybe we could setup a new thread with the topic - "Chess Marketplace"

Post both the links in it. Search for better superadmins and admins and formulate the rules of conduct.

Thumbs up.

Other forums that I belong to have a sub-forum for sales. Sometimes the forums have rules, such as not allowing sale postings until a member has belonged for a certain amount of time and/or had a certain number of postings.

Thanks I joined the FB group - seems like a couple sellers just spamming the same sets for over half the posts, unfortunately.  The remaining ones though are the kinds of sales I'd hope to see.

Hasan Basri Yazıcı is abusing/spamming the FB site.

Hi All and thank you for letting me join. I have inherited a chess set from my late father and I am struggling to find a value for it. I hate to admit it on here but I am not a chess player and it is apparently a design classic so I would rather sell it on to someone who can appreciate it. It is an Archesco Gemini set designed by Sir Ove Arup and all that I can discover is that one sold at Bonham 10 years ago for £375. Can anyone help me with this by pointing me in the direction of a reputable site for selling please? Many thanks!
