good pgn reader and database builder

Can anyone recommend a good pgn reader which will take the games I select and put them into a database that the reader can then open using select criteria?  Or is the only option to buy a ready-made monster database chess program that's a pain in the neck to load games into,

OR to use an online system, like that provided to members of chessgames.com?

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.  Thank you very much.

A lot of us use Scid vs. PC, takes just a little getting used to but is well worth it.

SCID vs PC works well & there is a very good tutorial on Youtube on setting it up, customizing it & creating databases
