How to Properly analyze chess books.

What do you do when reading chess books? how do you take your notes? how do you analyze to book? I have a very good collection of books that i just bought and wanted some tips?

i read a chapter then go over it again. then will play over a masters game trying to work out the next move.this helps me understand the game more.

When playing through games: cover the moves, think for a few minutes about what you would do next and why, then uncover the move played.

In tactical positions, try to work out all the tactics and see why the move played is best (or not).

In general when reading analysis, try to be as skeptical as possible and try to prove the author wrong.
