I'm done with buying and selling chess stuff. I can only selling that many boss's bags and kitchen utensils before the Almighty One finds out. My weekly AA friends also told me have one on it and quit while ahead. Solid advice.

You have such gorgeous chess sets and boards and the photos are fab.

+1 QC2003 👍 and while photos can be misleading - for my taste, the SC in Paduak is so far ahead it may as well be in a different race.

That said, I know Noj is the crowd favourite, especially from those that own them and appreciate the quality the pieces.

Both are superb, equally beautifully carved and finished. One can't really go wrong with one of those.

Which is the knight on the far right?

That SC one looks awesome !
Avatar of Krames
I like the 3 knights on the right best. 2nd from the right #1, all the way right #2, 3rd from right #3.

That's SC knight, freshly carved that's why the color is so vibrant red.

And i don’t see padouk listed as an option on their site. Was that a custom order/request?
Avatar of TheOneCalledMichael

It was pre-order some time ago yes. By now Mandeep should have it launched on their website already but I haven't seen it online yet. I don't know why.

You should really have CB Dubrovnik in your collection. I think their knights are one of the best looking imo.

Avatar of TheOneCalledMichael

I like two sets from CB and one of them is indeed their Dub v3.0. One thing that annoys me about CB is the sets that I like they're always out of stock forever. A small detail just matter of preferences, if their bases are not tapered then it would be so much better.

@TheOneCalledMichael  The SC homepage photos look very similar to yours. Is there some sort of collaboration?

Avatar of Krames
Funny you said that about the homepage pics. They are sooooo much better than the pics of the set they use for sale. The homepage pics make me want a set, the pics on the link to purchase are actually off putting.
Avatar of TheOneCalledMichael

They are my pictures yes lol but I'm not endorsed by SC, I wish happy.png

@theonecalledmichael: I can't believe you are doing this to me. Torture! I have been looking at the SC set for awhile and loved the photos of the padauk version you posted in a separate thread. But for domestic harmony, I have tried to let the fever subside. And it had. Until this morning when I saw this thread. Now my fever has spiked anew. 😮

Needless to say, your collection is magnificent. I love the SC and Noj versions especially. I don't think about Noj for myself given the waiting time and the unknown cost.

Newly added 1st pic makes the whole thread/post even better!!!!! Absolutely EPIC!

Mister Richard, the same awesome tips I was given I will pas it on you one of them. Look for missus bags and ask what's her favorites. The ones she didn't mentioned nor remembers, sell those!

As ever, beautiful pieces and excellent boards, Sir!

Now, regarding your "I'm done with buying and selling chess stuff.": we all know better.  We too risk the Unholy Wrath of She Who Shall not be Irritated each and every time we point and click "add to cart".  It's a heavy burden, I know, but be strong and practice your delivery of the most-recent excuse from the Excuse Lab: "I'm helping the economy."  And good luck with that... wink.png
