Setting wrong on a DGT2500

Hi,

I just purchaised a DGT2500 chess clock,  and I wanna play fisher 10+10. It worked perfectly, but I must have touched something I shouldn't have, because now I start the game with 10min and 10seconds. I get the increment  on move 0, before playing, if this makes sense.

It's not a big deal, I mean, I could just put 9min and 50seconds, and I would start at 10min exactly, it's just bothering me.

Can someone explain how to fix it ?

Thanks

The time is normally added beferoe the move so 10:10 is correct, some clocks have add before and after for the bonus not sure about the 2500

I'm sure I can change it since it did not do that at first, I just cannot find how to do it.

I own the DGT 2500.

All of the DGT clocks that support "FIDE" increment (2500, 3000, 2010) apply the increment BEFORE the first move for that player (before move 1), AND also apply increment AFTER the player has made their move. So in other words, the increment is added to the starting time immediately, so 40 moves in 2 hours, with 30 second increment, will show 2:00:30 on each side, even though if you go to "manual" mode and try to set 2:00:00, and INC 30, you will only see the "base" seconds at first, until the mode is saved or chosen to be used. This is the "standard" way of increment, so your clock is working correctly. You'll see the exact same thing on the DGT 3000 by the way.

Chess clocks like the Chronos (Longbody version) do not add the increment before the game begins (but do add it after you make your move). On the longbody clocks, you simply create a time control with the increment "added" to the base time immediately, quite easily done, so this, combined with being able to change the move counter AFTER a game has started (e.g. for correcting illegal moves) makes this clock also FIDE legal.

(Note: On the Chronos GX, there is a problem, as you can't set seconds on any time control higher than "99:59" (1 hour and 39 minutes) or in any time control that uses H:M format (rather than M : S format), the only way to get the initial "increment" seconds to the base time is to start White's clock then INSTANTLY STOP the clock, go into "edit" mode, then add the increment seconds to both players side). However there is a SHOW STOPPER on the GX clocks--you can NOT change the move counter after a game has started! So if someone makes an illegal move and presses the clock....well...good luck.

On the ZMF clocks--if "INC-PRE" is set in the settings, even though you can't see seconds on these clocks (above 59 minutes), it will add the increment to the first player as soon as the clock is started.

Okay, thank you very much much for your answer !

I don't think the clock's incorrect, I just need to find how to change that setting
