Tap N Set Frustration

I am just as frustrated with programming my new Tap N Set as the Chronos.  The display on the TNS is weak, not as bold as shown in the advertisements.  I've over fifteen years in programming in Assembler language for the airlines and I DON'T HAVE THE TIME ANYMORE TO LEARN COMPLEX BUTTON PUSHING.  Both clocks are offered for sale and both have been used for under 30 minutes for testing.  Used like new in perfect shape.  Digital crap.  I'll stick with my INSA instead.  I've had it with digital and PM me if interested in either digital clock and we can talk deal.  Conus paypal.

Yours ever truly,

Analog dude

Do you not have a smartphone you can set the Tap N Set with?

Just FYI: There are already a number of different firmware versions of the Tap N Set clock and they all have multiple bugs in them. I don't know if there has been a new firmware version that has fixed all of the issues.

Yes I possess the iPhone11 and the numbers I program into it are disagreeing with what's displayed on the display.  Both units have wasted a lot of my time and  I really want to get rid of both units.

That's odd that the numbers you program into the app are different than what ends up getting displayed on the clock screen. Can you explain exactly how you are programming the clock with the phone?

THe fact that it's not even close to intuitive is justification for gettting rid of both units.  Look I had to do an exhaustive google search for the Chronos to find that wordy fifty odd page document that explained its programming.  This is total ***p (stars are my own) and I've had it up to my neck with this ball of confusion.

The Chronos works fine and can be programmed according to the instructions I found and NOT with the instructions included with the unit.   Once they've been sold, I may look at other digital units.

The Xflyee clock is quite good and I think it's probably the easiest to program out of all of the clocks I would recommend for the serious tournament player.

Yes, I was confused by this post as well.

@Micahsmith I respect the way you review the chess clocks and try to keep up to date.  Does the Tap n Set have the bugs out of it that were concerning you some months back? I would hope they were fixes that could be incorporated when he makes a new lot of them.

Just curious as the price seems right on this clock. My regret on the clock is not having a second countdown when you have 40/120 as in the US Open.  Why he didn't make the display just a tad wider to accommodate that, but I know he told me in an email he wasn't going to change that aspect of the clock, but that was a long time ago.

Thank you for your reviews on chess clocks as they are very meticulous.

The Xflyee looks very similar to the Wholesale Chess Advanced Digital Game timer with Bonus & Delay. Almost looks like the same manufacturer.
