I'm wondering who actually makes the clock. Their web site has no physical address for them much like the Cronos site makes it nearly impossible to phisically locate their racility. Beware/
ZmartFun digital chess clock - anyone tried these?

I have actually purchased one and really like it. I haven't figured out the whole programming thing yet but it was preset to 5 min which is what I like to play so it is all good so far. I will try to program it this next weekend.
It feels very solid and is a good size. The touch sensors work well and it has a nice heft to it. My only complaint, aside from the programming, is that the readout is not angled - which, to be fair, I knew before I bought it.

I bought it through USCF and, if i recall, it simply came in a blank white box. I can check more when I get home. It also had a lengthy manual so the address might be in there as well.

I checked the box and the manual and there was no address for the manufacturer. Oh well, I still like the clock!

I'll bet it's a cheaper Chronos made clock with a higher profit margin than on the Chronos line.
Lasertswift,
What color did you get? I'm thinking about getting me one. I think they look really cool.
I just checked their webpage and they do have an address. They are located in Miami, Florida.

I got the blue one and I really like it. I kind of like the green one too and might add that to my collection down the road, you know, for games of bughouse!. I just really like they way they add a bit of color to clocks which have traditionally always had simple black numbers.

If that's even possible. :)

I was curious about this clock as well, after seeing the ad on the back cover of this month's Chess Life. The thing that caught my eye from the description on the USCF shop page was that it requires four C batteries...granted, a glowing display is going to require more power than something like a Chronos, but the clock must be heavy like a brick. The Chronos is as well, of course, but at least there you get a clock that's encased in a metal box.

All this talk about clocks...don't you people know there are timepieces you can wear on your wrists nowadays? And what use is a clock that doesnt even tell the time? Sheesh, chessplayers...so illogical.

It is a pretty hefty clock but I kind of like it to feel like a tank. I also have a DGT XL clock which, while it is a nice clock, feels a little light and flimsy. The ZMart is not to heavy to be akward and, to me, feels good. I must add that I also have 2 Chronos clocks and I love them too. Torn between which ones to use when I play.

Speaking of timepieces you can wear on your wrist, how about one on your smart phones. There are several free apps for Androids that count down the time. The only drawback, other than the phone is expensive as heck is you gotta be sure you got enough battery for a long tournametn.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but it's weird I can't find more information on these clocks. And seeing that their website looks like it was designed by someone who just learned HTML... I'm looking for more information on these clocks.
Aparently they changed the look (and perhaps the features) of the clocks. Basically looking for something durable with nice weight to it.

They also changed the name of the clocks. The new name is ZMF-II. There are a few reviews in this forum for these clocks.

Just found http://bestchessmenever.com/blog/ and he did a review on the original model. At first I thought it was a joke... but nope... that's his real voice (or he believes he is Mario).

No, I believe he is from Serbia. So, he has that Eastern European accent. You got more reviews here

I saw the "ZmartFun digital chess clock on the USCF website and thought it looked really cool. I have a thing for chess clocks and own quite a few. I love the color readout of these clocks and like that they have touch sensors. But plastic?? That I don't know about. They are also about as pricey as a Chronos which is bad. I am still drawn to them like a moth to flame though.
Has anyone used one? Seen one in real life? Do the feel cheap due to the plastic or are they sturdy?
Please chme in!
Thanks,
Laser
