Hi my name is Jose Rubio from Spain I’m 48 and I’m trying chess. It’s exiting but need guidance to find the right path to learn. It’s a lot of information online but it’s like a monkey jumping from one tree to another without knowing what I’m looking for. Also my son 8year old like to see me “ playing” and I would love him to learn but I’m not the right person to teach him. How can you help us if you accept the challenge and of course if you are available.

Petra is a fantastic chess coach.

Hello, Cukus Coached me a few years ago and It really challenged me to want to become better. through her teaching and through the desire to want to be better I was able at 40 years old to increase my rating from 1800 to 2300. She was a very consistent and informative coach. I highly recommend her!
I've been working with Petra for the past three months and highly recommend her as a chess coach. I'm over 40 years old, a beginner chess player, and honestly have seen improvement in my play and understanding of the game. Ultimately, my goal is to play in an OTB FIDE tournament and achieve an official rating. Petra has helped me with selecting some openings for both white and black, some middle game strategy (usually through master games or personal game analysis), some end game technique, and regularly working on tactics. So slowly working on all phases of the game. She comes prepared to each lesson and has really helped to elevate my enjoyment of chess.

It's unusual for me to write in English since our classes are conducted in Hungarian. However, I want to express how happy I am to work with you. Your understanding of the game keeps improving, and your 1.d4 repertoire is becoming quite solid. You are also gaining a better grasp of the Nimzo-Indian Defense.
We have been doing a lot of calculation exercises, and I can see that your calculation skills are improving each time. Our short-term goal now is to reach a rating of 1600-1700.
