- Read chess books.

- Review GM games and pick out 1 cool/interesting thing you didn't know (it can be an opening, tactic, sacrifice, endgame idea, etc).

I'm 10 years old. I use ChessKid mainly, and when I turn 11, my dad said he would transfer me to Chess.com. My rating is 1157, and I play with my friends on another site, but when I go into a tournament there and ask a titled/2000+ player how i can improve, it is always the same thing. "Get Good." I play 3 hrs a week, and study for 2 hrs a week. Is that enough to reach my goal of 1800 by the time I am in college? is 1200 average for my age? I want to beat my dad very badly and he is 2100...
