Who else is totally in love with the new Master Video Lessons, and what should they come out with ne

I was so excited the first set of video lessons came out. I have been using them as homework for my students to complete ever since. I will then review what they completed and test their skills with drills over the board. When I saw the Master Level video lessons I was interested. Then when I saw they converted their already amazing video collection from masters all over the world I was excited. When I saw these videos were from full length videos, and organized by Type, Category, and then broken up in bite size chunks I was amazed.

I have stood behind Chess.Com for years, and have always believed the $99 a year Diamond membership is worth every penny with all the resources, constant improvements, and support. AKA even at $10 an hour for the best chess coach alive (10 hours), you still get more from Chess.com. I moved up from around 700 rated to 1100 rated (and able to beat my dad some times) from a program called Chess Master 3000. I loved their endgame course with Josh Waitzkin voice over. Now I have moved up to 1600's USCF Rapid, coach chess to several private students, teach chess in the advanced call of our local chess club, and my family cannot and will not play chess with me anymore because I can play all 6 of them in a simul and beat them all, dad included. LOL. I thank Chess.com for all of thier excellent resources. The more they add the more I do, and the better it makes me.

I cannot even count how many times I complete a dozen lessons or watch a bunch of videos to find a subject or two to teach the classroom of kids I coach on Sundays (8-15 kids ratings from 800-1400).. I then use analysis board and a projector to be more interactive in class room setting. Now I can complete video lessons to test my skill, and ensure I truly understand the material.

I cannot wait to see what new things are coming out!

What are your thoughts on the new video lessons, and what features do you want to see come to make all of us into better chess players.

Nicely written post about the new lessons on chess.com thumbup.png!

I have never been able to stick with the lessons on the site. I always get side tracked/distracted with other things, but after reading your post (with your high enthusiasm for them). I'm going to try to stick with them and see how the can help improve my understanding of the game chessbook.png.

to teach chess. eye cache of memories or so called childish reflexes or intuitive moves can learn faster and all but cant teach to you how to think or calculate lines. because you activate your brain ram memories of what you have saw solved and explained and you cant turn on your rom brain thinking algorithms because you havent trained any. rom brain memory or hard disk like needs a high quality food also and quiet and clean place to really turned on.

I'm not being mean here. It's just kind of wired what you wrote ^^. Cache/memories, ram/memories, brain/memory or hard disk?

I think all Josephs was saying/sharing. Was that a lot people over look the value of the lesson included with the diamond membership diamond.png.  And he was writing about his positive experience with doing the lessons and watching other people also improving from these lessons.

Most people on chess.com play chess as a hobby and we all do not have the time or money to be "properly schooled" in chess. And that dose not mean these interactive video lessons are the definitive way to learn. It's just a nice starting point.

Yes twitchforfun! To really break you bad habits and grow beyond a certain point some level of coaching is almost required. But we can all self coach to a certain level and utilize great tools readily available to many of paying customers yet I feel most paying chess.com members dont even use half of the features. 😜

I don't know about this. Is it free?
