I dunno how I feel about this? It's like re- naming jogging and now calling it walking.
Renaming blitz to rapid? Huh?

Lichess has categorized 10i0 games as rapid for as long as I can remember. I personally rarely play anything less than 10i0.

Cheeky, I am disappointed in you. I thought you were right up with the latest news. You will have to learn to walk the walk..

I'm only 12 days behind. In dog years that's only about a mili-second. Woof, woof!

So let me get this straight....a G10 game is now rated the same as G90?
That seems to be the case.

G is shorthand for game. For instance G10 would mean both players start with 10 minutes to play the chess game.

This seems to be the case. I just don't understand why?

I am sure the management has its reasons.

Seems like there should be a category for longer time control games. I mean there are several G30 tournaments played every day on chess.com. why not then have a rating for games of G30 or longer?
I wish chess.com rated every time mode with its own rating, but I can see why they don't.
Anyways, I preferred my 10 minute and 30 minute games rated differently. Probably because they were my two most played modes, I used 10 minutes when I wanted to speed it up a bit, now I use 30 for when I want to slow down.

Yeah, chess.com should have a 'classical' rating just like (Another Website). Classical could be for all games 60|0 or longer imo.

copying lichess hmm...
Well, also their own statistics make it reasonable.
IIRC the most popular time control is 10 minute, and it's obviously played by a different group (i.e. played by noobs) than 3 minute (which is played by pros).
So it's reasonable to separate them for that reason too.
