I prefer Nc6 because I play the Checkhover variation as white, and that's something I wouldn't ever want to defened against as black . (1.e4 c5 2.d6 d4 3.cxd4 Qxd4)

i personally love to defend this position!  anytime someone brings the queen out in the first 5 moves or so one can typically take advantage of her exposure...though center counter defence is still sound somehow...1.e4 d5 2.pxp qxp

I like the Kalashnikov Variation of the Sicilian Defense, so I will usually play 2...Nc6. It all depends on what variation you want to play. All that said: go 2...Nc6!!! Laughing

Let us play this out, and I'll prove to you that there is no way for you to attack my queen without worsening your position :) ;)

Thanks for linking the game with the Qd3 variation. I did look up another game between Polgar v Shirov, played in Monte Carlo MNC, rd 5, Apr-02 and the result was 1/2-1/2. This makes me unconvinced that 2. ... d6 is inferior to 2. ... Nc6 because of the Checkhover attack possibility.
