It’s STOCKFISH
not carlsen
well if its such a bust how come according to chess.coms opening win percentages black wins .2 percent more and 1/3 of games are a draw. yea this isn't a bust buddy just another anti Sicilian if it was a bust no master would play the Sicilian anymore its an obscure move and its unlikely anyone would seriously prepare against it I believe you just caught players off guard
Yeah but a draw against Stockfish would be a good rrsult
The point is, the result of this game contradicts your claim that Sicilian Alapin is a forced win for white.

Forced win vs Humans, and that’s all that matters.
But if you CANNOT win in X situation, a win is NO LONGER FORCED
Doesn’t matter to me.

Carbon-based life forms?
Were you playing against Stockfish on a strong setting? I don't like its 8. ... Qc5 at all, I think maybe Qc7 instead. I've been away for a day and a half and I can't help noticing you haven't moved in our game. Not that I'm trying to put you under pressure to move .... it is a three day game after all and I also like to make full use of my time. I know we can't analyse a game in progress but I can mention that in my opinion, 4. ...e6, as played, is best for black.

Sorry, I had advanced to the second round of some 24 hour per move tournament so all those games just started are listed before yours, and so I kind of forgot about this one. I’ll pay more attention.
e6 is the right idea I think. It annoys me slightly when people develop their queenside first against the Alapin, which just doesn’t seem like the right idea
Oh, it's fine: I'm happy to be playing you. All my recent games finished and I'm too busy atm to enter another tournament. I blundered badly in one of the tournament games and so, along with the game in which somehow a move I didn't play was registered and I lost my Q on about move 7 of a c3 Sicilian, happily I don't advance to the next round. I wasn't comfortable playing on the white side of all those Sicilians, although I seemed to get some playable positions but it cost me a lot of sweat against players rated less than me, so I didn't want to play in the next round anyway. I should annotate one or two of my games .... the one where I was white against a sheveshnikov or something was quite enjoyable .... I half remembered a positional line I used to play 25 years ago, although I got it wrong and didn't play the most aggressive option.
I'm sure nobody will complain about discussing moves already made. I don't like to play Bg4 .... I just don't think it's right. I prefer to play e6 immediately white has a pawn on d4, so white can't go ...dc and gain tempi against the Q.
Play the Alapin against someone who actually knows the lines and see what happens. Also, check out the win rate at higher levels.
Chess is a war strategy game. The British believed announcing their self and marching shoulder-to-shoulder in a line with bright red coats with giant white X's (center control) was superior to all forms of guerrilla warfare i.e. attacking the center by not being in the center or preparing other secondary operations compared to what is 'proper' or 'standard.'
The argument seems inane; as inane as claiming the Bongcloud is the best opening of all time because moving the King opens the end-game therefore the first player to the end-game wins by virtue of achieving the tempo required to claim entry into the end-game first or some other silly reasoning.>>
That's a misrepresentation. They used that method to strike fear into their enemies and they continued to use it so long as it worked. Then they stopped using it when it didn't work, with some delay because some of the generals were, of course, congenital idiots. In general, cavalry was used on the flanks, due to its superior maneuverability.
