Botvinnik Formation

Just wondering what you guys think of the Botvinnik Formation as a general opening system for black against most systems?? I guess it can be applied by white aswell.

What would be the basic aims/plan of the opening

From my limited knowledge I think this is basically a system for white, since white has the early option of playing d4 and ruinning an attempt from black to use this formation.

Ditto to the above comment about the possibility of getting a very bad bishop, which is probably the main danger.
