Actually, you said you play the Semi-Slav, and the gxf6 ideas in the Meran and Botvinnik are actually quite similar to the Classical Sicilian, so it's actually a quite good repertoire, and the Classical Sicilian would be a fantastic choice on its own.
I would most definitely recommend a Classical Sicilian against e4 + Semi-Slav against d4 repertoire.

You just don't understand. It doesn't matter who tells me to do what. I don't have to listen. I can play and enjoy the game the way I want to, not the way that YOU tell me to. I would encourage others to do the same.
It doesn't matter who says that there's a problem with it if I'm not having a problem. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. You don't know me, my experiences, my opponents, my play style, nothing, but still you have the nerve to tell me what I should and shouldn't do!

Gatekeepers like this are so annoying. They insist that certain openings are only for certain players of the calibre that they deem appropriate. Even when you do fine playing a line and enjoy it without problems, they double down and insist that there IS a problem and you shouldn't play it.
