You never listen to anything I say, you only respond "Why did you lose then?"

THAT IS THE TRUE MARK OF IDIOCY.

The_Gavinator

No shepi, it's because if it was as bad as you say it was, you wouldn't lose to it.

And CS, an easy way is probably c4, although I'm sure there are much better ways.

Ben_Dubuque

truthfully I am arrogant.

gambiteer12

c4 is shit Gavinator. Funny your always picking on CS and can't do much better.

You clearly don't understand that it is possible to lose from equal positions.

shepi13

You clearly don't understand that it is possible to lose from advantageous positions.

You clearly don't understand that it is possible to lose from winning positions.

shepi13

You clearly don't understand chess!

amen

tracking turned off.

I don't think it is very good either, I was just giving a way to hold on to the pawn. Personally I don't agree with that line, but I was giving a way to hold onto the pawn.

The_Gavinator

Nice trolling shepi... Someone's pissed he can't beat the Parham.

I did beat it!

shepi13

You don't understand what 1-1 is, do you?

The_Gavinator

You're actually 0-1, the game you "won" was from a knight blunder...

The_Gavinator

Shepi didn't blunder, he opened up his kingisde and slowly got worked over, whatupyodog just blundered a knight. And you are down a pawn, I don't think that's dominating.

gambiteer12

@CS 12. Nc3 Bf5 13. Qe2 Nxd5 14. Nxd5 cxd5 =

you have houdini put in the position just before Rxb3 and it will tell you you are flat out wrong in your evaluation

Gavinator=Refuted.

tracking turned off for good.

The_Gavinator

I mean that line has stupid moves, I was just giving an example of what I would do

The_Gavinator

Can you stop trolling please? Nothing has been defeated, I didn't even agree with that line, and you hung pieces about 20 times when you tried to refute this, so don't pull that crap on me.

Bill_C

One of the first things i would always do with mixed results to the Parham was to play Qf6 in place of Nf6 since White has already lost the initiative by virtue of moving the Queen twice so far. If Qxf6 then Nxf6 gives Black a nice lead on development and at least +1 on tempo. most lines through fritz 11 show an evaluation ranging from +1.2 to +2.4 to Black by the time development completes. If Qe2, Black simply devlops and looks to simplfy to either a Rooks and pawns endgame or even a superior minor piece struggle.

Bottom line IMHO, Parham Attack games fall into the realm of coffeehouse and blitz openings, usually against lower rated opponents handling the Black pieces, though if it is still being played, then perhaps SOMEONE has a pretty nic thing going on it.

Oh and @ jetfighter13, I have missed talking with you over the last several months and hope to put a thread on Knights Tour sequences that are easy to master. Not a big thing but if you can see the paaterns, it helps tolearn how to appreciate the Knights in a whole new light.

On a unrelated note to this forum, is anyone in agreeance with me that Knights shou be given a approximate value of 2.4 Pts to a Bishop at say 2.6 seeing that a pt count of 5 pts is typically needed for mating in the engame? i would like to hear others thoughts on this idea.
