Early trends of Bird's opening (A02)

Hmm ... probably Russian or, at least, Slav Bird (1. f4 c6 in chess).
88/118 games treated (1620-1873).
And:
The Williams Gambit 1.f4 d5 2.e4!?
The Sodium Bird 1.f4 d5 2.Na3
Admittedly the last one is mainly seen as a matter of transposition after 1. Na3 d5 as 2.f4 was number of methods used by Robert Durkin

Hmm ... it didn't appear in my sample (from chessgames site) so far.

French Bird 1. f4 e6 :
- Main line 2. Nf3, 22 games
- Williams variation 2. e3, 10 games
SF9+ recommendations: 2. Nf3, b3, e3, e4, Nc3 (ev=+0.0/-0.1).

I love 1.f4! It's my go-to opening. I've started learning the King's Gambit as a way to deal with 1...e5, (for example, 1.f4 e5 2.e4) since I don't like the main lines of From's Gambit.
You mentioned that you're analyzing the games... will you share all of your results when they're available?

Well, analyzing might be an exaggeration. At the moment, I'm just classifying historical Bird openings.

Classifying? I'm not sure I understand. Like, are you organizing the games based on game result, number of moves, that sort of thing?
Sorry to be a bother - I just got excited when I saw this thread and I figured "Hey, I might learn something!"
Either way, will you share the results of your labors?

U don't bother me and, sure, I'll post my results here. I don't pretend to make my own deep analysis. However, I can post engine evaluations, indicate errors and so on.

I like the Salty Bird !
1. f4 !? d5
2. Na3 ?!
Hahaha ... right There are 2 strange flying creatures: Sodium Bird 2. Na3 and Ammoniac Bird 2. Nh3.

Actually, U see yourself what kind of analysis/classification I make: how many games were played with a given variation, what moves were made and their modern engine evaluation. Something like that.

French Bird 1. f4 e6 :

- Williams variation 2. e3, 10 games
SF9+ recommendations: 2. Nf3, b3, e3, e4, Nc3 (ev=+0.0/-0.1).

(75/118 games analyzed, to be continued)
I've analyzed 118 Bird's opening 1. f4 games (A02) in the period (1620-1899).
