French Vs Caro-Kann
Because I'm a Positional Player I play the Caro-Kann and sometimes play the Scandinavian.
If you were really a positional player, you'd play the French Defense.
Virtually all of the modern theory of positional play comes from the written works of two players - Tarrasch, who codified the Classical School, and Nimzowitsch, who did the same for the Hypermodern School. Both of them played the French Defense, and neither of them played the Caro-Kann.
That should tell you something. Whether you're trying to occupy the center as a classical player, or undermine and destroy the opposing pawn center as a hypermodern player, the French Defense is the positional player's weapon of choice with the black pieces against 1. e4.

I register on board 6 against you
I'm not sure what you mean...
Well never mind....I said I wanted to join the other team and play against u on board 6 ....
I would join Team French, except that I don't play 1. e4 anymore as white (I play the Reti), and with black I transpose to the Owen after 1. e4 e6 2. d4 b6. That's right, full hypermodern (the weird stuff, as I've been told at recent tournaments). Lack of recent experience with the openings would make me a weaker player than Team French deserves to have.
I would have thought @ThrillerFan would be signing up for Team French. He plays it well from both sides. Not sure he does correspondence, though.

Can you make it 8 players each?
Do you want to play the French ? Coz then I can play the Caro Kann against you ...

Oh I don't play the French. And I just saw that he isn't increasing number of players

Can you make it 8 players each?
No, I will not, however, if this is popular, I might make a rematch with more players

Bro it's not fair all high rated players singning up here are chosing caro
how is that unfair?
they are highly rated, so they know the superior defense to 1. e4

also how about GM Simon Williams who thinks the french is better? he is 2500 FIDE higher then all of those
@MISTER_McCHESS - The Caro-Kann is more deeply studied by classical players, so it's understood better by more players. It's not superior to the French Defense in any respect.
If the C-K was really better, even from a classical perspective, why didn't Tarrasch play it? I don't think any of the players signed up for either team so far are close to being his equal.
@chamo2074 's complaint is a valid one - it proves nothing for a bunch of mid-amateurs to get out-booked by masters. Players of roughly equal tactical strength need to be matched up in order to drive home any valid points.
