Right now, I play the dajdorf, kid, as black and d4 as white, I need an agressive opening thats open because Im bored of those. Any advise?

Hey dude,

I am a big fan of the kings gambit, it probably loses something at the highest level but lots of fun to be had before that.

Golbat

Play 1. g4. It's way more exciting than the dajdorf.

Najdorf Variation or KID usually works for me. Are you looking for an aggressive opening only or one that would last through the game?  I tend to play various gambits if I am looking for a quick opening, but if those fail they don't always develop into a strong mid-game.

Little-Ninja

There are lots if different openings that are aggressive. U have various Sicilian openings, Kings Gambit, Halloween Gambit, Benoni, Ruy Lopaz, KID, Dannish Gambit, Scotch is farly interesting and list can go on and on. In fact a suprising amount of openings can get aggressive if u choose the right variations of them.

Ive had the colorado attack used on me, I liked it, I think Ill try that one, thanks for all the suggestions.

Im looking for an open game with lots of dangers, I love gambits and I surprisingly play well down a minor peace, i played the benko oftened.

gambitmate

try scholars mate, its pretty aggressive!!!!

um aggressive... lets see

Note that this opening has not been documented as a win for white but there is a variation at 5. fxe5 is my variation where as 5. Bxc6 a game went to black here.  There are possibly blunders there but thought out all the moves and looked decent.  I didnt plug them into the computer.

Hope that helps and atleast interesting.

LOL I like it! I have a new mato... e5 AHA!

Ill go with the dragon.....

Matt1728

smith morra... or goering gambit... that's very aggressive

yea - you should probably switch from 1.d4 to 1.e4 if you really want an aggresieve opening - unless you want to play the Blackmar Diemar Gambit with 1.d4...

1.e4

if they respond with e5, perhaps the King's Gambit or the Danish Gambit may work for you...

if they respond with c5, definately Morra Gambit, or Grand Prix Attack...

1...e6, 2.b3!? may save you some time of studying - search on Youtube Reti Gambit, and your studying against the French is done!

1...c6, probably the Advance Variation...

1...Nf6 or d6 - 4 pawns attack

1...d5 - the main line works fine...

As black, against 1.e4, Sicilian Dragon is pretty sharp

against 1.d4 - Benko Gambit, or KID

against 1.c4 - perhaps a reversed Closed Sicilian type of set up?

These are probably the most aggresieve option I can think of - not the soundest...

As White, try the Trompowsky Attack or the Ruy Lopez Exchange Variation or any of the Open Sicilian lines.

As Black, try the Benoni Defence, Sicilian Defence, or Blumenfeld Counter-Gambit.

Ty, I got some googling to do...

All I know is that Im gonna loose a bunch of games until I get used to e4, this will be fun.

When playing White I really like the Ruy Lopez and when playing black I mostly play the Sicilian Defence.  I know I should expand, but I am almost 50-50 with both, so why fix what's not broken.

Head_Hunter

I understand your dilemma; I went through the same thing a while ago. Whenever I played with the Black pieces it seemed like I was at the mercy of whatever White wanted to do. And when I played with the White pieces and opened with 1. e4, the good players always respond 1...c5 and I didn't know Smith-Morra Gambit well enough to play.

As a result of my frustration, over the past few months I've began to study several gambits and countergambits. I have amassed a few favorites.

When I play as White:

1. The Urosov Gambit because it's so simple.
2. The Evans Gambit because it's yet to be refuted.
3. The Tennison Gambit because it's versatile.
4. The Wing Gambit against Sicilian because though it's probably unsound, it completely throws Sicilian ideas into a frenzy.

When I play Black I respond to King's Gambit with the Falkbeer Countergambit (1. e4  e5 2. f4  d5!) because it's one of the best responses to the King's Gambit. Against 1. d4 I have a number of gambits that I've grown to like. The Albin Countergambit (1. d4  d5 2. c4  e5!) is wicked! The Budapest Gambit Fajarowicz Variation (1. d4  Nf6  2. c4  e5  3. dxe5  Ne4) is very aggressive and tricky. If I am playing someone who I know is a very good player, then the only gambit I'll try is the Benko Gambit (1. d4  Nf6  2. c4  c5  3. d5  b4) because it's played by GMs against each other.

I realize that everyone here has suggested about everything. You mentioned you would like to play more open games...well as opposed the KID, the Grunfeld defense is probably the most open of all indian games, very tactical, and considered a "sound" opening played at the highest of levels. I would stick with the najdorf vs. e4... it seems to fit the criteria you are looking for already. As white you said you play d4? If you want a more open game, you might think of switching to an e4 opening. Those games, regardless of the defense deployed by black, tend to be pretty wide open.
