The highest pawn height, corresponding to pawnless endgames, is equal to 96 = 8x6+8x6. Here, in openings above, we see pawn heights < 20. Promoted and taken pawns have, by definition, the height 6. It's reflected in classification codes, in particular, 6Dc means that there was an exchange of the white D-pawn with the black c-pawn etc.
