sicillian
Most Violent Black Opening
I second those nominating the Latvian. It is the chess equivalent of "Either a brevet, or a coffin."
People use the terms aggressive and attacking interchangeably. This is wrong.
An aggressive opening is about short term tactical threats.
An attacking opening is about going for your opponents king.
The sicilian only fits the first one of these criterias in all variations. Its a tactical mess - but if white wants, he can short castle and be the one launching an attack. A slower one for sure, but he will be the one attacking white. Therefore I describe the sicilian as an aggressive, chaotic and tactical opening, but not necessarily an attacking one.
I strongly disagree that anybody should try the latvian as it is loosing by force according to theory.
Before deciding what opening to go for, decide if you are looking for an aggressive opening, an attacking opening, or both.
Smashing the board with an axe is probably the most violent opening for black OR white.
