Need help evaluating these ideas against the Scandinavian Defense

Hi everyone. Can someone who's smarter than me give their thoughts on these opening ideas against the Scandinavian Defense?

Let's say my opponent recaptures e5 with the queen. Is it a good idea for white to play d4 or c4?

If I play d4, that would be protected by my queen but my opponent can play Nc6 or e5. Could I reply with Nf3 or c3?

Or instead of d4, if I played c4, my bishop would still protect it, right?

Let me know what you guys think! I'm still close to beginner level and could use some help evaluating this.

Here is the main-line.

I also advise the main line (Mieses-Kotrc Variation).

But why not deviate a bit to experiment.

To your question:

c4: this will weaken your c-pawn because black will trade queens on the e-file. Now you will need to reinforce it with d3 (?) after the knights come out. That just looks ugly (from a configurational point of view).

d4: playable. The downside is that after e5 and probably Nc6 there's too much pressure on your center, an e4 push becomes available (you want to prevent Qxd1+ because that gives the attack to black). So while black does not gain material, he does gain the initiative.

3 Nc3 is obvious.

Nc3 wins a tempo on the queen and developing a piece and making the queen move.

5. Bd2 is hardly the main line.

It's been occasionally played by GMs, but 5. Nf3 is more than five times more common and has been played recently by Anand, Nepomniatchchi, Caruana, etc.
