Opening HIARCS

Hello,

I decided after many years to study chess better. I know that there are many videos / posts on this topic but does somebody have specific experience in study openings with HIARCS? 

Which book is better to use? Is there some specific book to purchase and add?

Also, what is the open study approach with a database?  Should I for example play d4 / Bf4 and then understanding the best moves after each black play? Or is it better purchase a book and study the theory? Of course I am a member of chess.com, I can also use the website
