I'm experimenting with both Benko's g3 and Reti's Openings Nf3. I like both because you can transistion to King's Indian Attack or other variations, plus you can 0-0 earlier in a match using those openings.

I also like Ruy Lopez.

King's Indian, Ruy Lopez, Sicilian Dragon, King's indian Defense, and the French defense.

How many openings should a good chess player use?

I like variations that are on the fringe of acceptability. The most "main" opening I play is probably the Vienna. I often play 1 b4. Against 1d4 I try to play the Budapest Gambit.
