QGD with Ba6

Hi all, I played white in the below, both players ~1400. In response to Ba6 I moved b3. Was this a good response? Tarrasch drops the score to zero as a result of this move. I don't follow why? Any thoughts please. Thanks

Because Ba6 dropped a pawn and you didn't take it.

Thanks, I did consider that actually but then what about whites inability to castle? Is a pawn enough compensation for that. I didnt feel confident playing from this position.

You should try it out with your computer and see what variations you come up with.
