Yea. possibly. Also im not good at explaining things. Im an intuitive player, tried it out and seen it, and in those particular circumstances it worked, but it is not something to play regularly. As in the david howell game, it may be the only move sometimes. However in most cases, it is not a candidate choice. Also i was in love with the idea of it, but practical chess is differant than theoretical chess. ;/ Glad everyone contributed to this forum and helped me realize the flaws of the move. This move is never really talked about.
Ruy Lopez new theory

Well I added it to my novelty file so yeah. I think its pretty good surpise weapon. Sometimes you can surpise your opponents with a move that might throw them off and you win. I still can't find a way to show the move is wrong in some position's like Its very curious move for sure. I kind of like it. Keeps things flexible.

ok another example
I checked back in as I saw this starting getting more attention. This "second" example is again totally useless as White has no business playing 9.d3.
9.d4! - Why slow down? To accomodate Black? If Black takes, you take back with the pawn and a fork is already threatened. If Black doesn't take, White may play d5 at some point with a huge space advantage.
useful and thanks! I dont mean to force opinion, because i dont use it myself. I just mean to talk about something new. Get theory on something non-theoretical. I dont care about Bd6, but ive faced it before, and seen it before, and it annoys me. looking at the patters of the position.
Well it was a nice idea that got me curious and I did some investigation it seems like it can be playable in a few position's the only one I'm a little shakey about is the 8.d3 continuation with out the h3 move. I mean logically it would seem like it work's. Maybe I'm reading to much into it.
