The best openings

I like bird's opening for white. It's solid opening, but almost anyone knows it's theory. You can also attack well in the middlegame. It's good for someone who wants to try something new.

What your asking for contradicts your forum thread title.
Best Openings - Are not always the same as person Favorite Opening.
For Example:
The Birds Opening isn’t considered the Best, but it could be your Favorite Opening.
Your Thread Title really limits discussion because the Best Openings have already been flushed out by both humans & super computers.
The Best Classical Openings in all of Chess are:
- Ruy Lopez with 1.e4
- Queen Gambit with 1.d4
Are you trying to find out what Best Opening are?
Or just what people Favorite Opening are?

English: something different and very sound defensive position
Italian: can’t go wrong with simplicity; also fried liver attack
For black I like:
Old Benoni Defense: throws players out of the comfort zone from the get go and I have some good success with it.

Would love to see who these players are that you throw out of their comfort zone. I'd likely crush them.
The Old Benoni (1.d4 c5) is easy to take on. 2.d5! and answer 2...Nf6 with 3.Nc3! NOT c4. That square is reserved for the g1-knight, via g1-f3-d2-c4!
