I think they prefer to be called "Romani"

I think gypsies have something to do with belly dancing.
Gypsies are custodians of the unwritten knowledge of course.
Occasionally they like to transform into ponies.
Be careful of taking something gypsies give you - like their "famous" potluck - because they will be expecting payment in return. They will even try to buy the shoes off your feet for three twigs and a polished stone.
Or they may buy Manhattan for a box full of shiny trinkets.
Oh wait, that's the Dutch.
