what’s you comfort opening
Same.
I have no reason to stop playing it as long as people keep blundering against it
...Qxh3 would have been nicer

500? That's nothing!
1266 games as Black on here
284 games as White on here
About 700 to 1000 games as Black OTB
About 100 or so games as White OTB
That's me and the French Defense!

king's gambit. scandinavian? I despise it with a passion and quit playing chess over it (specifically 2.e5 & all the toothless positional main lines) and the stonewall straightjacket over a decade ago.
I WANT to play rousseau, luccini, calabrese, & jaenish/schliemann etc. to play MY more open and tactical loving style like I'm getting my groove on soooo much with the englund hartlaub/charlick gambit which I'm starting to love more than anything else (only 30 something games so far with 33:65 stats as of today!) because I REALLY get it and tend to play it at 80% plus accuracy. in fact, it get LOWER accuracy scores like a 78% today beating a +100 in just 9 vs a 92 playing an = 80 moves. somehow... the "math" seems wrong! HAHAHA! what's really happening is it takes a few moves to dilute stalefish's contempt for gambits. it calls the hartlaub charlick a BLUNDER.
it's a VERY intuitive opening for a tactician once you learn a few basic themes, but I've been playing king's gambit longer than any opening I actually like to play. when 3x black games in a row and nothing but hypermods and pawn pushers are driving me nuts, 1.e4 e5 is a welcomed FAMILIAR sight

I'm a big fanboy of the Ruy Lopez, though the italian is decent as well. Not a fan of d4 openings.
not a fan of 1.d4 as black? Like I just said, I am SOOOOO loving this PERFECT (for me) open/tactical reply to 1.d4 that takes black out of his pawn pushing comfort zone with super mobile development
I just played this, my highest rated game in it this morning
if THAT looks like your kind of opening... this is about all you really need to know to play it
a lot of people really hate the london. this opening PUNISHES 2.Bf4 pre-movers when it doesn't flat out prevent the london.
I love it sooooooooooo much! I play it at around 85% accuracy just following the plans in this video and constantly seeking targets. there's A LOT of wiggle room to re-group and counter punch too without those pesky center pawns in the way.
2 pawn moves and then basically, nothing but pieces.
Queens gambit and French. I've played them since I've been around 400 elo, and have just stuck with them ever since. I know them so well, *like so well* that I've been hesitant to learn other openings as i know my theory knowledge wont be up to par. (Pretty stupid reason to be fair) Although recently I've been playing the London and Jobava London, which I'm not the proudest of but what but what Im trying to say is that I'm going to learn other openings, not because its the best for increasing my rating, but to have more fun and experiment.
