?? White can play the advance, the Tarasch, the classical, why trade pawns always? And also against it, against the Tarrasch they can play closed open, why Rubinstein? With Nf6 they can play Winawer, Classical, why always Rubinstein?
Why are people so obsessed by trading pawns in the French?

I prefer other variations because the exchange french is boring. I do not want to oblige, just asking why always those variations?

Bro if you did not understand what I mean, don't convince me what you understood ok? Please let other people answer. Peace!

It is obvious you do not know what you are talking about, the french defense is the 3rd most played after 1.e4

Look, the french is a really good opening, and you can watch about it on youtube. It makes losing chances much less from what I know. You just have to know how to play it. What is a good opening in your opinion?

When you say the exchange variation is boring that tells me a lot---as a French player, you don't want to play the exchange variation. When I know my opponent doesn't want to play a particular variation, it makes me more inclined to play it. The exchange immediately takes the French player out of the game he/she wants.

I have always been a french player. and 8/10 times I get the exchange french which is so annoying because it is boring. And I literally never get the Classical or the Tarrasch which I studied well as well! Also, when I face the french, I choose a line other than the exchange and the advance, which are very common at my level, I usually choose the Tarrasch or Nf6, and in both cases, I get the Rubinstein!!! It is also annoying because since I studied the french from black point of view, I only have recommendation to play the classical against Nf6, so I do not know the Rubinstein which is also annoying. What should I do? And why are people so obsessed by trading pawns? I understand that they like to release the pressure but also why? And why trade pawns? Why not push?
Regarding exchange french (trading central pawns): I wanted to add french in my repertoire but exchange french was the reason I was hesitating but If I would choose caro-kaan there is exchange caro in that one as well. So I decided to study both of them lol

Exchange french is good for black, it is equal and better player will win. Those that don't play the french to avoid it, is because they like their game to be spicy. But spicy players like Ginger GM (Who made a lesson abt it) can also play it perfectly well and beat their opponent if they are better than them.

The game is not boring because of the opening. Much and more can happen later in the game. I have won great sacrificial games as black in the Exchange Variation.

You mean 4 knights game? Yeah, sometimes I play e4 and from there some traps, but now I sticked to the french because of the four knights, at least in the exchange french there are a few imbalances like a better bishop, some pawns that obsess pieces etc... 4 knight =s is too perfect not to be a draw I think.

This type of thing sucks.
I kind of agree and it is EVEN worse if white does not go d4, at least it offers some imbalances. Same thing for exchange french.

I have an exciting line against Tarrasch with f4, Universal Tarrasch, Main Line Tarrasch, Steinitz Classical, Burn Classical, and Advance variation is just easy to play with black, you play actively you can't loose
