Young-Kmoch-Soltis zone: pawn structures and my contributions to the theory of chess openings

Franklin Young was the first who realized 200 years ago the importance of pawn structures / formations. U can learn here (thanks to batgirl )

The next important contibution was realized by Kmoch and his book "Pawn power in chess":
